Nothing is better than AOII!
Today, Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity, with 190 collegiate chapters throughout Canada and the United States, and with over 155,000 members. Our chapter at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is called the Chi Psi Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi. It was founded on March 9, 1986 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011. Chi Psi's total number of active members and new members is approximately 210.
Every fall, Chi Psi is thrilled to welcome a new member class of around 60-70 girls to join the Alpha Omicron Pi sisterhood at Cal Poly SLO. Beginning with a variety of new member activities and sisterhoods to get the girls well acquainted with one another and the chapter, AOIIs begin to become a part of something that is more than a sorority. Over their next college years, these girls will have the chance to participate in philanthropic events, like AOII's very own Mr. Fraternity and Arthritis Walk, which raise thousands of dollars for our philanthropy. They will have the opportunity to build their leadership and professional skills by taking positions on Leadership Council, Panhellenic, and even Order of Omega. At Chi Psi, these girls will have the time of their lives experiencing unique social events from exchanges, date parties, and formals!
The Chi Psi Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi is a home to both Cal Poly students who live in the house as well as those who live out. You can always find girls lounging in the living room for new episodes of The Bachelor and Pretty Little Liars to tanning on our gorgeous lawn. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment in our sisterhood.
And after the four wonderful years as an Alpha Omicron Pi at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo are over, the experience doesn't end. Alpha Omicron Pi has approximately 320 alumae chapters who stay as involved as possible, from becoming a chapter advisor, working for our headquarters, to stopping by SLO now and then to relive the memories! “Alpha Omicron Pi will be the premier international women's fraternity inspiring an exceptional member experience while developing highly respected servant leaders.”
